It’s Already Yours (Just Wait For It)

God’s promises don’t always necessarily line up with our own personal time tables. We want things now. We want things easy. We expect things from God like an infant that can’t comprehend why mommy won’t buy him the shiny new toy. So what do we do in return? Much like the infant we throw a tantrum. We get angry with God, sometimes even reject Him for a season. The expression “count your blessings” isn’t just another cliche feel good phrase. It should be a reflection. Have you ever taken the time to count the number of ways God has blessed you? Can anyone count that on their hand? Be patient (God is being patient with you) for His timing is always perfect and He treats His promises as if you’ve already accomplished them. After much conquest, when Joshua was dividing up the promised land to the tribes of Israel, he gave land to the tribes of Ephraim and Manasseh that wasn’t yet conquered. The tribes looked at Joshua and basically said “wait a minute – are you crazy? Not only is the land already inhabited but it’s where the Canaanites reside and they’re way stronger than us!” Joshua replied to the tribes saying “you are a great people… and the country shall be yours.” That’s how God’s promises work. Although things may look impossible and odds may at times be stacked against us – well – greater is He that is in me. We have a Spirit inside of us that is ready and willing to do great things. All you have to do is wait.
